That Red Rose

“Be mine forever”, he said in the most romantic voice, kneeling down on his knees.
She blushed to match the red color of the rose in his hand and a tear of joy escaped to kiss it.

“Mom!!!! Come here please and help me out in…”, shouted Tia from the kitchen, her seventeen year old daughter.
“Coming sweetheart… just coming..”, she stammered as she wiped the tears off his photograph.
It’s been 16 years since their Forever ended but the memories of this day were as fresh as the rose he had proposed her with.
