The Year That Went Away – 2018
With a shuffle
The new year started
To the new city
All packed we departed.
With new city
Spreading its charm
Adding new colors to life
Did no harm.
With the new colors
New memories were made
With tides of time
It couldn’t fade.
Shades of blue and grey
gradually did spread
Feelings buried down
Words left unwritten unsaid.
With all smiles and no worries
Happiness also arrived
With little moments of joy
The childhood was revived.
Filling the life
With visions of new places
Taking a few seconds break
From running those rat races.
New lessons learnt
Another chapter was closed
With new degrees in hand
For tonnes of pictures we posed.
A window to the world
A new chapter had begun
I had new race
Which now I had to run.
Fresh struggles and challenges
Have started to peep
There were dreams hidden
Which I had to keep.
The festival of light
Brightened up the sky
With my wings spread
I thought I was ready to fly.
With the music and dhol
Was the start of Wedding Season
My Silly heart
Had started to reason.
With new year peeping in
Let’s allow new hopes
Take in the happiness
And Tie it with the ropes!
