Glee #AtoZChallenge
“Two little ducks.”
“All but one”
“You and me, twenty-three”
The shrill voice kept piercing the silent room at a set interval of every 5 seconds and repeated every word exactly twice. It sounded like the trained voice of a person who might have been at this job for years now. The voice showed no excitement or emotions whatsoever.
“Two fat ladies”
“Pack of cards”
“Watch your son, twenty one”
A few giggles followed but died down soon, the moment the shrill voice cleared her throat for the next one.
“Two hockey sticks”
“Full house!” shouted a lady in the turquoise saree with excitement oozing out from every cell in her body. She quickly went to the front to get her ticket checked and claim her prize. After few stern glances at the ticket and the board, a slight smile appeared on Tanuja’s face.
“Congratulations Aria! You have won the prize today”, the shrill voice had mellowed down to a softer version.
Aria who have been waiting with anticipation while Tanuja checked her ticket jumped with glee like a kid. It was her first tambola win ever in the forty-two years of her life.
