“You have changed a lot Mia”, he spoke pausing a moment from writing the current assignment.
“Why do you say so?” She replied but not pausing even for a second.
“Your habits, words, dress-up..everything!”
She smiled in response. She knew what he was referring to, even she couldn’t deny them for she had noticed those changes in herself too.
“He has changed you, hasn’t he? Your everything speaks of him now”, he said, questions on his face, one after the other.
“No not really. It’s just that love changes you”, she said gently, as color filled her cheeks.
“But how! I remember how you used to declare that you won’t give up your sleep for anyone.. now you see yourself. Aren’t you losing yourself and your identity.. just in the name of Love.. “, he argued.
“No. We love each other for what we are… and these changes you see happen automatically.. just because we want to spend maximum time with each other, nothing else. My identity is still mine, he doesn’t overrule that. It is just that when you love someone, you want to get involved in their as much as you are involved in your own”, she smiled as she picked up the pen again to complete the last page of the assignment.
“I don’t understand!” He couldn’t argue more.
“That’s because love hasn’t touched you yet”, she chuckled , “I’ll ask you this when you finally meet her”, she got up to leave as her assignment was now complete.
It only left him wondering if it was really possible to put someone else before himself.  May be that was the magic of love, he thought.
