“It’s just 10 yet!”, she looked at her watch and cringed, hardly an hour had passed by and she was already restless. Minute by minute passed and it felt like hours to her. She kept staring at the screen of her desktop playing with the mouse aimlessly. Her to-do list of the day showed multiple items but all she could focus on was her watch, counting hours until her planned escape.
Another few hours passed, clock ticking as slowly as it could. Each second was nothing less than pain for her. She kept losing track of the things being discussed at the meeting, her mind drifting back to her watch. Meeting was over but her wait wasn’t. Aimlessly she sat at her desk feigning to work but kept glancing at her phone’s new wallpaper, a picture which she had taken yesterday. A smile would creep up on her lips and would momentarily ease her pain of separation.
Unable to keep patience she decided to escape a little earlier than planned. Faking sickness she rushed back home. Ten minutes walk never seemed such a long road to travel. After another fifteen minutes of walking in the Sun, she finally turned the knob of the door and let herself in.
Throwing her bag on the one side, she rushed inside towards her bedroom where most prized possession waited for her arrival.
“Oh, It was such a torturous wait without you Nemo! I missed you!”, she spoke aloud, taking in her hand the fish bowl with goldfish, the newest member of the family.
