“You are the worst thing that happened to me! I hate you!”
“As if you yourself are such a wonderful thing to happen to anyone!”
“I don’t want to see your face again!” She shouted as she banged the front door and left for the party with her friends.
“Me neither”, he murmured more to himself than to her.”Urgent help! Battery dead. Pick me up at this location”, said the whatsapp message on his phone. He knew it would be her. She just couldn’t keep herself out of trouble for a single day. He got up immediately, grabbed his bike keys and left.
After some fifteen odd minutes, when every negative thought had already crossed his mind, he stopped his bike in front of an old house. The lights were off, the ominous darkness fueling his worries. He called that unknown number but got no response. The operator repeated the recorded message, The number you are trying to reach is currently unavailable. Please try after some time. Desperate enough, he decided to knock at the door. He stepped forward to knock the door but it swung open at the slightest of touch. It scared him even more. Turning on the flash light of his phone, he walked in putting up a brave face.
Having taken only a few steps inside the house he bumped into someone. The person was wearing a mask making himself barely recognizable.
“Can’t you see? Are you here to deliver the pizza we ordered?” the unknown person asked.
“NO..err.. Where is she?” He stammered. The voice he just heard seemed oddly familiar but couldn’t place it at the moment. Strange how the mind stops working when most needed.
“I’m here!” She shouted from the other corner of the room. He ran towards her and hugged her tightly.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
It was then the lights switched on and the music started playing suddenly. Everyone around him started singing in chorus, Happy Birthday to you!
“Happy Birthday Bhaiya!” She said handing him the knife to cut the cake.
“You scared me to death!”
“That’s what siblings are supposed to do”, she winked.

So so sweet… Of course that’s what siblings are supposed to do 😀 But imagine the tension the brother might have gone through
