About The Book:
A nun commits suicide in front of thousands in Spain. In Australia, Siobhan Russo recognises that nun as her mother, Denise Russo, who disappeared six years ago.
In search of answers, Siobhan travels to the isolated convent where her mother once lived. Here she discovers Denise’s final confession, a book that details a heinous betrayal that left her crippled and mute, and Denise’s subsequent deal with the Devil to take revenge. In the desperate bargain Denise made with the Prince of Darkness, she wagered Siobhan’s soul.
As Siobhan discovers the fate of her soul, she learns that hidden within the pages of her mother’s confession is part of The Devil’s Prayer, an ancient text with the power to unleash apocalyptic horrors.
And now her mother’s enemies know Siobhan has it.
Can Siobhan escape an order of extremist monks determined to get the Prayer back? Can she save the world from its own destruction?

About The Author:
My Take:
The book belongs to the difficult genre of Thriller and suspense. If not handled with caution a book can easily go wrong but this is not one of those. The author has wonderfully handled this genre and brought out a brilliant thriller. Taking a historical religious background, the story moves fast between the web of secrets and conspiracies.
Characters of the book come and join the story perfectly to match the story. Emerging out of intriguing situations every once in a while leaving the reader in a bit to a daze to catch up. Set across Europe and Australia, one finds oneself on the roller coaster ride with the characters.
There are a few intense scenes with are crafted with great expertise. Although the book is fast paced but those readers who are not much interested in history and the dates mentioned, might feel a bit overwhelmed with the information. Other than that, the plot holds the reader completely and is powerful enough to drown the reader.
Bottom line: An engaging read which leaves the reader longing for more. A captivating thriller..
My Rating:
4/5
Scale of Rating: 1– Ignore It!! 2-Don’t Touch It!! 3-One Time Read!! 4-Add To Your TBR!! 5-Read it NOW!!!
