The Hidden Feeling #BarAThon
Read Here: Part one | two | three | four | five
Neither of them remembered what they had talked about that night. All they woke up with was a headache due to lack of sleep and strong urge for coffee. The day went in haze. But it was the first of many more to come. Days turned into weeks and then soon into months, their conversation grew gradually. May be love grew too. Avinash went through a totally new set of feelings. Earlier, people used to tease him for his friendship with Aditi and how it was more than friendship. He had always denied it. Though he never really had a huge circle of friends but the last year has seen a steep decrease in the already low count. But what he was feeling now was something never felt before. He wished, if only Aditi was here with him to help him decode what he felt. All his life, only few things had mattered to him. His family, his career, his passion, his friendship with Aditi and his solitude. His solitude never made him feel lonely, not until now. He never felt that things were incomplete in his life.
On the other side, Ruchi was treading on this path more cautiously than ever. But little had she known apart from lending him an ear to hear him out, she would also give away her heart. After suffering deeply from her previous heartbreaks, she had vouched that she would not fall for anyone whatsoever but her stupid heart had started fluttering again giving her knots in the stomach everytime a message arrived. Dipshita wasn’t shocked when Ruchi finally confided in about her feelings and fears.
“Everything seems to be too good to be true”, Ruchi said, digging into her favourite Belgian Chocolate.
“He’s good, I know”, assured Dipshita.
“Hmm.. as if straight out of the fairy tale…”
“.. yes… to sweep my princess off her feet”, Dipshita smiled. Ruchi blushed, her cheeks turning light shade of pink, a smile touching her eyes, a rare sight.
“I don’t know Dip if…”, she left the sentence incomplete. She was overwhelmed with thoughts which couldn’t be really put into words. She wondered how some of his words still rung clear in her ears, clueless about the effect her laughter had on his heart.
“You deserve it, especially after whatever has happened before”, Dipshita said, as she took leave and headed home after a tiring day at work.
The thoughts of Ruchi and Avinash clouded her head all throughout her walk home. Finally, the cupid had stuck, she thought. She chided herself for her wishful thinking. Yes, she did want them to be together but then she wanted the things to happen at their own pace, if they were meant to be. All she wanted was the end of loneliness in the lives of Avinash and Ruchi. She had seen Ruchi fall and pick herself together. She wasn’t as strong as she showed herself to be. Deep down she was still broken and also very fragile. She wanted this to work out for them but not at the cost of Ruchi. Because she knew if Ruchi slipped away this time, nobody would be able to bring her back.

Ruchi kept herself busy while travelling for various events, also letting things happen at their own pace. Avinash feelings were keeping him lost most of the times. He would often get impatient but then would scold himself. He was going through a strange phase which he could share with nobody. But the change in his behaivour did not go unnoticed by the ever-so observant Dipshita.
Although there wasn’t a day that they hadn’t had any conversation but still if anyone may ask, they hardly knew anything about each other. May be all they knew was each other’s soul and rest was, as they say, materialistic. Though they lived in the same city but they hadn’t met since that Success Party. Dipshita had tried more than once to make them meet out of co-incidence but it never went as planned. But then something happened which fulfilled her wishes.
