Zoe, however, only reflected back their confusion.
“Say something!” Kay shook Zoe with the hand. “Why is shock written all over your face?”
Meanwhile, Kim took the device from his brother and pressed the top button to rescan it. But, doing it twice or thrice didn’t change the result. It remained very much the same it was the first time.
“Tell us Zoe”, Kim also began to panic when Zoe didn’t answer.
“According to the coordinates, we aren’t very much far from home of..”, his voice trailed off. He couldn’t collect the right words to say what he knew.
“Say it Zoe! Your suspense is not helping”, Kim stood up with impatience.
“Remember, Grandma used to say that when she was a kid she used to go her grandma’s home which was near the shore”, Zoe looked up at both of his sisters for affirmation, hoping they had remembered their childhood stories. Both nodded but didn’t speak.
“Once, Grandma show me her Grandparent’s picture from the cruise which used to sail through the sea in that century. The photo was take just before the cruise left for its journey. Behind it were the almost same coordinates”, he concluded.
“So, what is the problem?” asked Kay, completely unaware of the shock that was now gripping Kim too.
“What is it both know and I don’t?” she demanded an answer, also standing up next.
“The cruise drowned as the sea water rose suddenly and also submerged the city under its rage the very next day. The destruction was everywhere. The countless cities and villages of this coastal line were lost and were never recovered. People say that there are cities and buildings still to be seen under the water but it is now a restricted area. In the following years after the misfortune, the walls were of iron were made to surround the land to prevent it from the unannounced attacks of the sea. And also, trespassing that wall is impossible and if anyone succeeds in doing it, this is a strictly punishable offense”, Kim spoke as she read this straight out of the history book. Her voice was now devoid of any emotion.
“So you mean to say that we are at a place that doesn’t exist anymore and we might be punished if we ever manage to go back home?” Kay said as her mind processed the information in Kim’s words.
“That is what I’m not able to understand. We hardly few more than 500km and this wall is about way more far than that. Moreover, it’s impossible to cross that area without any prior permission. We just couldn’t zoom through the air like no one would notice”, reasoned Zoe.
“But Zoe, this place doesn’t exist in the first place even if we did cross The Wall. These trees, this sand, such beautiful paradise reminds of the famous paintings that are just the mere pigment of imagination of those artists”, said Kay as she remembered visiting one painting exhibition a few days back which had shown similar pictures.
“This all existed but like centuries ago. I have read it in the history books”, said Zoe.
“History books! What all do you read Zoe!”, remarked Kay and all laughed. But when the laughter subsided, Kay again spoke but a little more grimly, “We haven’t travel through Space else the co-ordinates would have been different. But is it possible that we have traveled Time?”
