Venturing Across The Unknown #AtoZChallenge
Read part one here
“Zoe!! Where are you running away?? We need to fix this aircraft and find our back home!” Shouted Kim resuming her role of being an elder sister. Zoe ignored her and kept walking towards the lush green trees. His spirit of adventure was contagious and he found Kay by her side almost instantly, grinning ear to ear. Kim felt defeated but followed them nevertheless, looking back at the aircraft every five minutes.
It was half an hour later and there had already entered the forest. It was dark under the canopy of thick-stemmed trees, a totally contrast to the bright sunshine on the beach that they had left behind. Slight noises of insects followed them everywhere. The surroundings were getting creepier every growing minute. Both Zoe and Kay were thrilled with whatever met their eyes but Kim’s face was a new definition of worry.
The place was getting darker and colder. While both of the younger siblings kept on moving ahead with enthusiasm, Kim was completely at unease and kept on trying to convince to go back to the aircraft. Her watch told her that they had been walking for two hours now and to her relief they had slowed down and were looking for a place to sit and relax. They settled at the place where the canopy was sparse and the sky was visible.
“This is a very interesting place. I’m loving it. Let’s take a break of ten minutes and get going. What say?” He asked for the opinion of others but wasn’t keen to agree with anyone.
“But what place is it?” asked Kay, sitting up on the rock.
“Don’t know! But it looks dangerous to me. What if there are creatures who are harmful and kill us. Or worse, they capture us and torture us for trespassing?” spoke worried Kim.
“Oh! Kim! Please don’t be a spoilsport! We all are above 15 here so technically we all are of age already. We can decide for ourselves what we want to do”, reasoned Zoe.
“Yup! But where exactly are we?” asked Kay, a little tense herself.
Zoe pulled out a square device from the inside pocket of his jacket and switched it on. A few seconds later, the device came to life and started scanning for signals but couldn’t find any even after ten minutes went by. Zoe, casually pressed the reset button and the device restarted itself in another mode. After scanning for another five minutes, it flashed a set of co-ordinates.
19° 5′ 55.4208” N
72° 49′ 34.7808” E
Both the sisters look at each other with confusion and then at Zoe for some explanation.
