Healthy Diet For Healthy Life
“Tell me what to do??” R asked me for the umpteenth time.
“Umm.. You can try gym..”, I answered back.
I was at her place for the sleepover. Other than chitchatting whole night, she had full intentions to eat away my head and she was surely succeeding at it. I couldn’t even threaten her to go back to my place, because she knew it very well that I couldn’t.
” Baby, who has the time to hit the gym daily?? ” she inquired.
“Get up early and go for a jog then.”
“Yah, then I will be found sleeping on my office desk!” And we both laughed at the suggestion we both knew that neither of us could follow.
“I think I will go for crash diet. Yes, that would be perfect punishment for this bulging tummy”, she said suddenly getting serious.
” No way! I won’t let you do that”, I almost shouted.
“Then?” She gave me what-do-I-do-then look.
“Start your day with warm water mixed with Dabur Honey and have a balanced and healthy diet”, I told her.
” And can you please tell me the benefits for ditching my favourite burger and instant pasta.”
“There are many.”
” Elaborate please.”
“You won’t fall sick as often as you do now. It will strengthen your immune system and also preventing health conditions like heart diseases, high blood pressure due to stress etc. It will increase ‘good’ cholesterol and decrease unhealthy triglycerides which will reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.”
“Oh! And?”
“A balanced diet of whole grains, low-fat food, diary products, fresh fruits and vegetables will add fuel to your body boosting both, your energy and productivity.”
“OK! That means my boss will be happier that I will working more!”
We laughed again.
“But N-”
Cutting her mid- sentence, I said, “Hear me out first. So as you cut down on junk food and opt for low fat and healthy breakfast, you can control your weight too, which is your primary concern at the moment I guess!” I winked at her as I said this.
“Cool!!” She finally seemed to be grabbing the importance of healthy diet now.
“So, your reduced weight will lead to better physique and smarter appearance. This will boost your confidence and self-esteem and you will feel good about yourself and your body. Isn’t self-confidence most important thing in life that is so full of challenges?”
“Yes, definitely!! I’m totally in for this balanced healthy diet! Let’s start with Honey Diet.”
“Good! And the path of crash diet that you were planning to walk before might have helped you cut down weight but would have surely left you with nutritional crisis. Lack of few important proteins, iron, calcium or other nutrients could even lead to several disorders or major problems in your later age that you might not even notice now.”
“God!! N, thanks a ton for showing me the right path, you saved my life!” She said dramatically.
I gave her but-you-know-I-am-right look.
“Thanks dear! Seriously! You have solution for problem”, and she hugged me tight.
” Yeah, I do… But only for the problems that aren’t mine!! ”
And we burst out laughing again!

Hahaha, normally we only have solutions to others problems! Our problems are a different story altogether.
How I wish, I can cut down those tiny creeps settling in my body as fat! 🙁

I used to drink hot water, lemon, and honey in the morning, mainly in the late fall and winter; however, now due to the decreasing bee population, I am beginning to wonder/rethink about my use of honey. Hmm…. <3
I also used to drink that but gave away with the habit when these hot summers arrived!
