Unfolding History – #DelhiDiary
April is here with four of it’s day already gone. While weather is still confused on whether to rain or shine, we were determined to explore the city furthermore so much so in between current and the last weekend. April frenzy is on and amidst this fun, I managed to steal time to unravel the city’s treasures. This time ride was more on the intellectual side.
First stoppage on our ride was National Museum. It houses sculptures and paintings of all the ancient to medieval times. It was an enriching experience. It was an experience worth remembering with history revisited. What I found really interesting was that the jewelry of those times was similar to the designs of this times. Even for a second I didn’t feel like that they were pieces from centuries ago. It disseminates knowledge about the significance of the objects in respect of history, culture and artistic excellence and achievements. It serves as cultural centre for enjoyment and interaction of the people in artistic and cultural activity. It also serves as epitome of national identity.
After we had exhausted ourselves, it was time for relaxing evening at India Gate. Perfect Day ended with awesome Evening and windy weather acted as icing on the cake! To be able to roam free with a hassle free mind, free from all thoughts. India gate is a memorial to 82,000 soldiers of the undivided British Indian Army who died in the period 1914–21 in the First World War, in France, Flanders, Mesopotamia, Persia, East Africa, Gallipoli and elsewhere in the Near and the Far East, and the Third Anglo-Afghan War.
The day ended and my bed called me sooner than the usual days!
Next trip
Take Care,
Sending love,
Until next episode from Delhi.
