A Tech Freak’s Wish

“Yah coming!!” I yelled as I ran towards the door.

The bell had rung already twice and the third time it was long pressed with irritation taking over.

“What the hell took you so long N? It doesn’t look like as if you were sleeping!”

I smiled apologetically.

“Sorry Mom! Actually I was…” I can’t lie to mom, that’s the truth; so I couldn’t make any excuse. I gave her a glass of water as she sat on the empty chair lying near my study table.

“So, if you were neither sleeping nor watching movie at full volume, then why don’t you hear the door bell??” Yeah, those were the two major reasons I often didn’t reply the doorbells or phone calls. But this time there was another!

Feeling guilty I pointed towards my old Laptop screen, which was still stuck on the same page for the last 10 minutes, clearly not responding to my clicks and taps. “I was strolling Flipkart Mom”, I murmured.

“Flipkart! Again! You already have what all you need. What else do you want now?” I can see her frustration rising. Clearly, her vegetable shopping hadn’t gone so good!

“Yah mom. But look at my laptop. It’s aged now and it’s days are numbered.”

“It’s working completely fine. You picked it from the service center just a week ago no?”

“Yah mom, Even the staff there suggested me to get a new one. And look at this ASUS EeeBook X205TA, Mom!!” I showed her the super-stylish Laptop. I saw the features with desirous eyes. The more I thought about its features, more I felt convinced that this was the one thing I so needed at the moment! It’s Dark Blue color had caught me real hard and is refusing to leave my thoughts.

“Mom it’s features are amazing and that too at such an amazing price!. And most importantly mom, it’s weighs less than even 1kg! Just think Mom, what a relief it would be for your daughter’s shoulder. I would feel less tired when back from work and then would be able to help you even more in your chores.”

She smiled as she saw me trying hard to convince her.

“It’s great N, but just a few months back you got your new phone right?? You are never satisfied, are you??” and she walked out of the room.

I had no answer for this. Bad timing N, I said to myself. I was born as gadget maniac and tech freak. I wanted my hands on every latest gadget that made it’s appearance on the tech-stage. Ok, I’m exaggerating. But I can’t let go of this. And I so want this one, specially when my laptop is threatening to leave me everyday. It’s a torture for a gadget freak to live with gadgets that refuse to respond to your actions! Grrr!!!

I will try convincing her later, a little harder next time. Time to think of a set of new convincing reasons now! 😛 But keeping my woes aside, which Tech freak wouldn’t wish for this awesome Laptop!
