10 Most Common Yet Peculiar Train Passengers

Most of you people must have travelled through the train. But ofcourse, what a silly question! And then you must be fairly acquainted with the Indian Railways and its peculiarities? Aren’t you? Well, best thing about being a writer is that you get to observe and then write about anything to everything. Isn’t it? Being away from home for over 5 years now, I have plenty of stories of my journeys to tell… umm.. but may be some other time. However, there are a few people I encountered in every journey almost. I am sure you must have noticed them too.

So, here’s the list of 10 most common yet peculiar Train Passengers:

#1- CAREFREE BIRDS: You will hardly find them at their seats. They keep wandering here and there and specially getting down at every station or wherever the train halts. Sometimes a person is away for so long that it feels as if he planted a bomb there and went away!! 😛

#2- SEAT HUGGERS: The moment they enter the coach, they look for their seat an having found it never ever leave it, except to get down at their destination ofcourse. It seems like they didn’t buy the ticket for the journey but also bought the damn seat and might willingly take it with them, if possible! 😛 Try exchanging the seat with them, it might seem to be a Roadies Task! Here is when your luck leaves you completely, no matter how strong it is! Try it once and you will know what I mean.

#3- LUGGAGE LOVERS: These are the ones who will never leave their luggage out of their sight for a second and keep it right beside them. This condition hold true even if they themselves don’t get the space to sit forgetting the luggage count themselves.

#4- FOODIES: They will have plenty of food to munch even for the shortest journey and will pull out the packets of Lays, Kurkure etc. the moment train leaves the source station. If not, then they will definitely buy something from every vendor that passes by. It’s seems like the ultimate goal for their travelling is to eat different types of food! 😛

#5- SLEEPING BEAUTIES: These people will be found sleeping throughout their journeys. They sit, they sleep. They lie down an again sleep. They only sleep and sleep! Phew! I wonder how do they get to know about it’s time to get down at station, go home and SLEEP! 😛 Don’t they ever keep sleeping even past their destinations? #justwondering

#6- RADIOS: They will surely test your patience by playing all their favourite music out loud. Even worse is when they decide to watch a movie on whatever gadget they own. Technology can be a pain at times, don’t you think so? A humble request to those, Please go get a pair of headphones!

#7- TTE STALKERS: The moment they step in, they will look for TTE; hoping to get the seat when Indian Railways Ticketing System refused to do so. Their journey is spent negotiating with him, requesting for a seat just like a student begging grace marks from his teachers. I would have really pitied them, had I not experience the worst of those scenarios myself.

#8- GATE-HANGERS: These are either the ones from above category who were rejected at cruel hands of Fate or the one travelling with last minute plans and tickets with no other place to themselves except the gate of the coach.

#9- MINDING-THEIR-OWN-BUSINESS: These are the ones who are in busy in their own world and don’t give a damn about what others are doing around them. They settle down in their seats and will get busy with themselves: either chatting among themselves or reading a book or listening music, if alone.

#10- CHIRPING SOULS: They will keep talking to you about any to every topic there exists in this world, ofcourse not considering whether you are interested in talking to them or not. Your existence is that matters to them, but surely not your opinion. Try silencing them and you might just end up in giving them another topic to start off! Beware!! 😛
