The Sunday Scroll #17 – The Extended Weekend
Hi all,
I am sure most of you have had a great time this weekend because this was not just another weekend, this was ‘The Extended Weekend’ almost everyone was waiting for! For everyone it started on Thursday but for me it started a day earlier when I reached back home again for Navrarti and Dushera Celebrations.
PM Modi launched Swacha Bharat Mission ( #cleanIndiamission) when everyone would have surely wondered why the hell they were called to office on National Holiday celebrated for years. Well, another step for a better India! Dad took us to see various Pandals Β celebrating Durga Puja which were indeed splendid and left me surprised at the creativity. Weekend announced the arrival of relatives coming over and then started the religious weekend trip, visiting one temple after the other. Phew!!
Collecting blessings all the way, moving all the way from Home to Vindhyanchal to Varanasi, it was a trip filled with feelings which are the base of Indian Hindu Religion. Waking up during the wee hours of the day (a huge task for today’s generation! π ) and getting dressed for visiting Kashi Vishvanath Temple followed by boat trip of the Ganga, then Manas Temple, Sankat Mochan and the final stop being B.H.U.!! See, told you, it was indeed collecting blessings after standing in long long queues outside temples and then getting just a second’s glipmse! I just kept wondering, will just a glimpse of God’s idol do any good! Indian Beliefs! You can’t turn them down, can you?? π It was such a long tiring day! I might write a travelouge (just that I don’t know how to do it!) Damn Tired! I wonder what made me write this at this time of night when everyone has drifted to their respective dreamlands! May be I just wanted to write, to share or is it just the blogging fever rising again?? π π π
The weekend has come to an end with just one more day left to go and college has already started calling me. I guess it’s time to get back to books now!! (Hopefully! π )Well, time to sign-off! Mom already shouting out to me, I think it’s time to call it a night with eyes literally drooping! Good night everyone!
How was your extended weekend?? Do share!! π
Until Next Sunday,
Keep Smiling!
It’s always nice to have an extended weekend plus a day earlier Nibha. π Glad you got to enjoy it and receive all your blessings. Mine will be next weekend as it is Thanksgiving and I will take one day off prior to travel as it is the busiest weekend of the year for travelling by ferry anyway. <3
Nice post nibha… Was a quick read. And yes I spent my weekends in the city I love.

A pretty busy and hectic weekend you had! A boat trip on the Ganga must be a fab experience. π

Sounds like a great weekend filled with some memory making moments! β₯
yours was quite an exiciting weekend. Mine included only cleaning… massive spring cleaning…
Your post says that you have a great weekend and liked reading a sort of dairy here :). As for me, my weekends are the busiest esp. with shopping and cleaning …
My weekend was horrible …I was stuck in the kitchen cooking for relatives who ate as if they had never had a meal in their lives π I want to cry for the long weekend is now gone! sigh!
