The Sunday Scroll #10 – This One is for You DAD!!
Hi all,
This week flashed by and before I knew it, It’s Sunday again! This week turned out to be even more uneventful than the previous one. No outings this week made it even duller! I guess we need a break from this break! ๐ Cooking experiments which I so gleefully boasted last week took a downturn along with my mood which went downhill too! Anyways this comes and goes!
But the special day today calls for celebration and compensates for a dull week with a brighter weekend. What’s special? It’s Father’s Day today! And I am terribley missing my dad today. It’s not like I don’t miss him everyday but today much more. So to pacify my aching heart I decided to walk down the memory lane with my old and new photographs. And I found this very old photo of mine with my dad.
There are no specific memories that I remember, maybe because I was too small to register the moments but what from my parents tell me, I was an extremely camera-shy person. I used to hide if I saw someone clicking me! As they tell me, they would click my photos when I was busy with myself and the photosession went unnoticed by me. This continued for quite long until I myself became friendly with the camera and photography became one of hobbies. Although getting clicked is still not an option that I prefer over clicking the photos. May be that’s the reason I hate selfies (You can hate me for this, Selfie-lovers!).
This hobby got wings when we used to go for family trips. My dad loved clicking around the mesmerizing pictures, capturing nature through the lens. I grew up with many vacations which meant a collection of photos (courtsey- my dad’s and my hobby). So this hobby was inherited from dad. This picture is of one such vacation, when we went to Kerela.
This picture brings back so many memories of that vacation, my favourite so far. The enchanting beauty of nature captivated our minds throughout our stay. We never wanted to come back from there. Munnar, Backwaters, Beaches and much more, was an enriching experience! I won’t delve into details of the trips and how beautiful everything was because it might require a full travelogue blogpost!
But both of these photos made me realize how fast the time flew away. From being Daddy’s Little Princess to now Doting-Daughter, so much has changed through the years but somethings still remained the same! The father-daughter bond grew stronger with time as I grew up. Sharing chocolates with him changed to sharing thoughts and deep discussions. His thoughts and insight about life gave me strength and inspirationย that will last a lifetime.ย His love and support never dwindled for a second in my lifetime. Sometimes, I think Dad’s love and sacrifice often get overshadowed. But the father’s love can’t be described in words. There is already so much said that it leaves with nothing new to say about what a father means to his daughter and what all he does for her. All in all, Just a little verse might suffice what I’m feeling right now,
For all the pain you took,
I knew not;
Of all the lessons you taught,
I never forgot;
From the baby in pram,
To person to I am;
One thing is true,
Credit goes to you!
You have always been there for me and I know you will always be there! You will always be my First love, and I will always be your Little Princess! Love you Dad!
Happy Father’s Day!
Until next Sunday,
Keep Smiling!
