The Sunday Scroll #9
Hi all,
Its Sunday morning and I am missing Special Sunday Breakfast! Since the time I woke up today morning, the memory of Jalebis that Dad used to bring every Sunday morning came flashing back and I craved to be at home instantly! Later when Mom called up, she told me they missed me at the breakfast as much as I missed them! Hostel life is fun no doubt but sometimes you can’t help but miss your home. Missing home comforts amidst the struggle of hostel is the part of package called- College Life! Its just that I’m missing it more today than the other days (Fine I accept, I am always homesick and I’ll stop ranting now! 😛 )
Its another week gone by and I stand exactly where I was standing a week ago. Nothing has changed at all. This week wasn’t as fruitful as I had planned it to be. Why? I don’t have answer to that. 🙁 Who to blame? Me ofcourse! But I will gladly blame it to the flaming Sun. Yes, apart from burning itself, it is burning us and our time as well and all our plans turn ashes before we know it. Seriously, Monsoon where art thou??
The boring dull routine of summer days at hostel continued with books silently craving for attention. An awesome day-out last week brought a much needed change with a movie, lunch and perfect end to the day with the sunset at lakeside. Life seemed to be perfect without a care in the world! How I wish this could last forever! But Alas!! The carefree dream ended as we headed back to hostel and reality hit us.
To spice up the otherwise boring schedule, me and my friends are actually on cooking experiments! It seems like a reality show, managing on our own with the little resources we have! But it’s fun converting our hostel room into little home with a side kitchen! Here’s glimpse of what’s cooking!
Please don’t ask for the recipes, they are highly modified version of the original ones! 😛
It’s time to sign off now for putting some plans finally into action! See you next week!
Until Next Sunday,
Keep Smiling!
we too had our initial days of working outside native, lived in a flat, where “I” actually learned or started cooking!!! 🙂
I guess practicing is what makes you better! 😛
wow the cooking experiments does look great 😀 yummm
Thanks 🙂
Some really warm memories in there leading to moving your butt and getting some action don (not those kinds, though!) But ya, I know what you’re saying here.
Great looking picture, am sure your experiments are paying off. 🙂
Thank you so much 🙂 We are indeed getting better at it! 😛
what a good experiment we missed in our life but u have. these days are off course really unique one every one should enjoy in a great way.
Yes, a blend of sadness and happiness!
Enjoy these days…4 to 5 years down the line you’ll miss these very days !
I know, i wonder how life would be then!
Looks like those experiments are going to take off! Great meal now!
Hehe! Yes, A little tasty! 😛
Looks like you and your friends are having a gala time experimenting! I am sure the homesickness will wear off a bit as the weather gets more friendly 🙂 And of course soon that day will come when you will miss these carefree hostel days 🙂
Well, for me homesickness sticks forever 😛 just can’t shrug it off! But Monsoon is surely awaited! I still get heartache when I think of post-college days! 🙁
Hostel life highlights for me was the Sunday feast with plenty Jalebis 🙂 And of course going to friends room for chats 🙂
Oh I so miss Jalebi! :/
Loved it! Funny that in our hostel “we together” didn’t make any experiments other than bhelpuri. OMG! For 3 years! Just bhelpuri! :p
Hehe!! And guess what! I haven’t made it even once here!! 😛
the cooking experiments.. oh yes I remember the hostel days and then when i came to uk.. the times spent in the kitchen learning.. making mistakes and still eating as hunger took over ..
hope you got something done and the sun is not keepin you inside still
take care 🙂
Yes Sun has finally shown some mercy now! And Cooking experiments are indeed fun!
Your experiments in the kitchen look great. Keep experimenting and keep putting your plans into actions too! Good luck!
Thanks so much Shilpa 🙂
The food looks tempting enough in the pics 🙂 The best thing about cooking experiment is that you can’t make the same thing the same way the next time 😀 Tell me I’m wrong 😛 😛
Exactly!!! Everytime its the different flavour!! 😛
