She Wished She Knew
Dress in red as a New bride,
Parents beamed with unbound pride.
Giving their daughter a million tips,
Her name never left their lips.
Tying the unbreakable knot of marriage,
She went away in a beautiful carriage.
Happiness and sadness flowing with tears,
Uncertainty seeping in with the fears.
Few days into New life gone by,
Her dreams are still on stand by.
Everything she has left behind,
To create a world of his kind.
All the dreams that she cherished,
In oblivion now they perished.
Helplessly living her life anyhow,
She wished she knew then what she knew now!
This post is written in response to the Write Tribe’s 100 Words on Saturday Prompt– She wished she knew what she knew now
hmmmmmmmmmmmm.. well it is true if only we knew then what we know now.. maybe we will do things differently 🙂
But alas!! We don’t know what future holds for us! :/
Oh, so sad!
🙁
Beautifully written. The words echo right inside the soul in such a sensitive manner that makes us sit and look at it from her perspective.
Thank you so much Vishal for the appreciation 🙂
Gosh! Crushed dreams and battered hopes… a sad reality for so many brides!
A wonderful expression for the prompt, Nibha! 🙂
Thank you sooo much for the compliment!! Indeed Crushed dreams are hardest to forget!
Great poem. I enjoyed it. How sad for her trapped into that loveless marriage. Funny how I had a similar idea for the prompt, too.

Great minds think alike, I guess!! 😛
I could feel her sadness in your words so well done
Thank you so much! 🙂
That is so sad. I hope she can somehow find some sort of happiness in life! ♥
The memory of crushed dreams don’t let the person find true happiness!
The misery of crushed dreams can weigh heavily on a young girl. Sadly, something many girls go through. Beautiful take on the prompt, Nibha.
Indeed the misery is totally inexplicable. Thanks for the appreciation! 🙂
Loved the take on the prompt. I am in total awe of you all who write so effortlessly! I am almost tempted to do a 100 word post!
Thanks so much Pratibha! Go on and try, its fun!
Such a beautiful poem.. sometimes all of us have situations in life where we feel we wish we knew!
Thank you Michelle! 🙂
You are the only one who called me with my second name! I love being called Michelle! 😀
Oh!! Umm.. i didn’t knew that!! So if you love it that wAy, let’s keep it that 🙂
Isn’t it just so painful when your dreams are crushed…! I’m so sad for her. Hope she grows wings soon !!
yes, it too painful but one should never lose hope!
That is so sad everyone should have right to live their dreams and I believe she should take a stand for herself and not just live by others’ dreams…
But there are hardly a few people who get to fulfill their dreams!
Yea that’s what i am saying tat people should fight for their dreams.
Yes exactly because life without dreams is no life at all!
