Reflections A-to-Z
Hi everyone! I’m finally back after a week of “no-blogging-at-all”. It feels good to be back. Good time has come. After assignments submitted, projects done, exams written, surviving UBC and AtoZ, partying at weekend and celebrating all the good reasons, I’m finally home munching home made food happily. Seriously no other feeling can compete this.
Journey back home was hell boring with 7-8 hours of waiting for the train that would take me and my friend home. With no damaged headphones and no all read novels, I had nothing to kill boredom. And to top it all, I seemed to be in a waiting -room that was completely no-network zone, so my phone was a no pass-time either. Blog-hopping was definitely not an option. Sheer hard luck I know! 🙁 Somehow the time passed, train arrived and finally I’m home. Phew! This journey was nothing special and totally no fun. It failed to join my usual list of adventurous train journeys (Will love to share them with you but later)!
So, what did I do to kill time?
Just out of A-Z challenge, I spent most of my time reflecting back the month of April.
How did I land myself into the challenge in the first place?
I had seen the survivor badges of previous years on various blogs. I wondered what is was. Just then the sign up list was up and I jumped into the madness without much thinking.
How did I survive?
Well initially it had seemed like fun. I revealed my theme and thought of scheduling all 26 posts before the challenge took off. But has anything ever gone as per plan? No! I managed only few starting posts and the month that was thought of fun suddenly became super busy with all the college stuff and final exams, squeezing out all the fun. I thought of dropping out of challenge so many times but that was something totally against myself. I hardly ever dropped out of any commitment I made. So, I somehow managed to write posts on or before time but the time for the Blog-hopping was slowly dying out, leaving me full of guilt. Then I decided on letting go of the guilt and take a little easy on myself. I decided to complete the challenge and then later read the blogs I so dearly loved.
What did I learn?
I learned no matter how tough it gets, if we decide on something there is always a way to achieve what we want. Planning and executing those plan always help in challenges like this but sometimes we are bound to slip into the uncertainty and its completely ok!
Through the Diary of an Ordinary Girl, I learned a lot. I learned that Home is a place that is always missed. I learned that its ok to be different because its our choices that make us. No matter how hard things get, we should always trust our conscience. The life will always be full of tears, smiles, fears, dreams, questions and gifts! Friends will always be there before we know it, for a cup of tea full of jokes spreading happiness and not allowing us to walk alone. There will also be moments full of laughter or silence or just memories. There will be wandering thoughts of introspection. This Ordinary Girl taught me that Life is a Game and it might not be perfect. Life is a walk but there’s no hurry!
A Vote of Thanks
A big thanks to Arlee Bird for coming up with such a great concept which brings together the bloggers from all over the world.
Thank you Corinne, for creating the support group on Facebook which has now become a family. I came to know so many bloggers and found myself not to be alone. This group was constant support whenever my confidence seemed faltering. Members of the group were always co-operating, motivating, encouraging and always ready to help! Thank you all for being regular visitors here when I couldn’t return the love. I promise I surely will.
Sri and Swathi, thank you for being there always, perfect partners in crime. I kept pestering them about my guilt for not visiting blogs and they did wonderful job pacifying my wailing heart. Swathi did her best in helping me through the daily posts. I would continously nag her and she would patiently listen to all my woes. Thanks for being there.
Last but not the least, thanks to all my non-blogger friends who were my consistent readers and reviewers. Thank you for keeping up with my panic during the challenge and sometimes also giving innovative ideas when I had none!
I now proudly show-off my Survivor badge to say- Yes, I did it!

Hehe 😀 Congo nibhz for balancing both ur exams n d challenge and completing both successfully 😉 well it was one awesome experience I agree 😀 writing just an hour or two before the challenge and sometimes sitting without knowing what to write and then discussing with each other! Am gonna miss that but well we can still chat about so many things 😉
I know!! Thanks for letting me eat your head 😛 Sure we will continue to chat 😛 Talks never end! 😉
Congratulations on completing the challenge.
You have my sympathy for that journey. I’ve got a twelve hour bus journey in a couple of months time and I’m going to have to ration my gadget usage to get me through the trip because I know that on their own none of my things will last for that long even on a full charge!
yup journeys can be really tiring at times, thank goodness for today’s gadgets! Thanks for visiting 🙂
