XBOX Madness
Here’s another diary entry of the ordinary girl. Lets read it together..
Dear Diary, Uff! What a tiring day it was! And to add to it was frustration and irritation gifted by my cousins. Yeah, everyone in the extended family has gathered here to have a get-together and I too joined them today morning, taking a break from my college. It feels good to meet family after such a long time. Chachaji returned last night from his trip abroad. He brought gifts for everyone. And one of the gifts he brought for his son was Xbox playstation, which immediately became the reason for my anxiety today. I haven’t even checked it out and already began to hate it. No, I am not one who hates games but still spare a moment atleast. They can be the best time-killers when alone but who needs them when there are so many people around us. But kids! Who can stop them. As he woke up all he needed was Xbox and then he along with all the cousins were involved lost in exploring each and every damn feature of it. It was then I entered the house. I was meeting everyone afyer two years. What surprised me was the usual excitement of my cousins meeting me was missing. It was sadly replaced by just a “Hi” and they were back to their exploration. This wasn’t usual at all. Being the eldest and the most favorite sister, they used to come running and always gave me a tight welcome hug. I missed it. But this was not all. After greeting all the elders I came to sit with the cousins. Be it a 12 years old or 20 years old, everyone loves chocolates. So being the eldest I had brought chocolates for everyone. But no one seemed interested. A day old playstation seemingly became more important than their sister! Wow! And I thought gifts brought people closer, clearly not this one! Irritated I went off to sleep only to be woken up by their shouts on cracking the highest score! Grr! Playing games on Xbox, Ordinary Girl. |
Have you even been pissed off like this?
You may read the other pages of diary here! The thoughts shared aren’t from the personal diary of the writer. They are based on observation and input from friends and personal experiences.
This post is so apt. Great work
right nibhz.. technology while bringing us all closer, is still takin us away frm each othr! this one happens a lot these days
very apt post… as technology improved, the closeness between fellow humans decreased!
