Pursuit Of Perfection
Here’s another diary entry of the ordinary girl. Lets read it together..
Dear Diary, I am so very irritated now. The painting which would have perfectly adorned the wall opposite bedroom door, is now sitting beside me spoiled with a wrong stroke of brush. Ok, fine I’m exaggerating. But all I can notice in this beautiful painting is the last stroke that went wrong! Why? Because of all the rare diseases I suffer from, Perfection is one of them! Yes, I want everything to be damn perfect. It does take a toll on me but if I am doing anything, anything for that matter, it has to be just perfect; else it will leave me dissatisfied to the core. It’s better off I don’t do it if I can’t do it perfectly. Yes this pursuit of perfection does drive me and as well as others crazy. I go shopping with someone, I will make the person crazy until I don’t find the perfect dress! That was just one example. Just because I want things to be only perfect and nothing else, therefore things take time in my case. I crave for perfection but still I have started to accept that not everything or everyone can be perfect. So it’s better to accept things as they are, not mediocre but it’s ok to be less than perfect because perfection often leads to boredom. And who wants boredom? Everything to anything, Ordinary “Perfection-crazy” Girl. |
How often do you run after perfection? Or you accept the things as less than perfect?
You may read the other pages of diary here! The thoughts shared aren’t from the personal diary of the writer. They are based on observation and input from friends and personal experiences.
Lol I too get such fits of perfection from time to time… but they are just fits 😀
Hehe!! 😛
Perfection is boring and stressful too. So, its perfectly ok for things to be just okay.
May be sometimes its better not to run after perfection!!
Great post!

I’ve been lucky not to ever have been much of a perfectionist, fortunately! I tend to plow through life, getting things done as quickly as possible. I don’t slow down long enough to question things!

Lol this sounds familiar! I’ve ended up spoiling a lot of my paintings too trying to make it just a wee bit perfect than it is! But that’s about it.I’m not too hung on being perfect in everything I do.
When I guess this happens with everyone once in a while!
I feel like saying this is a pretty perfect post! Well done 🙂

P for Petrified-Random Thoughts Naba
I agree to that Nabanita!
I am a perfectionist and usually instead of asking others to do things for me and knowing that I won’t be satisfied with the result I end up doing all things by myself and getting exhausted in the whole bargain:P
Ditto!! Same happens with me too!! Then there is so much to do for myself!!
Its perfect, how imperfect everyone is!
Exactly!! Thanks for the visit 🙂
It has been a pleaaure. 🙂
Most of us type “A” personalities are like that. Goes with the territory 🙂
