Nostalgia
Here’s another diary entry of the ordinary girl. Lets read it together..
Dear Diary, Today while searching for something in my treasure box, I came across the scrapbook that my dearest friend has gifted me on my last birthday. Forgetting what I was looking for, I started flipping through the pages of handmade scrapbook. Every photo in the scrapbook brought back a distant memory, worth a thousand words. The first time we had met, the awkward silence of the first meeting, becoming roommates, gradually knowing each other, becoming chatterboxes from silent souls, talking at nights until one of us slept off, terrace trips with stars overhead, shopping together and returning tired as hell, movie outings, birthday celebrations, treats and parties on irrelevant topics, mixed effort assignments, group studies leading to group discussions( which were obviously on every topic possible other than subject at hand ofcourse), cooking experiments, PaniPuri race, evening walks, making boring lectures hilarious and then not being able to laugh, texting and chatting when not together, fights on petty issues and then making each other smile, just a glance and bursting into laughter, holding on to each other during the good times and the bad, from daily-new-crushes to one true love, from teasing each other to shouting at each other but in the end we knew the bond of our friendship is greater than little strife we had because the promises to be friends forever mattered the most. I kept smiling as I turned each page and was lost in the memory. At that time it never felt that we were making memories, we were just having fun! It was as if the time together will never end but who can stop time, whether good or bad it flies away. The treasure box was now open, Ordinary “Nostalgic” Girl. |
I am sure you must have been nostalgic too. Share your experiences!
You may read the other pages of diary here! The thoughts shared aren’t from the personal diary of the writer. They are based on observation and input from friends and personal experiences.
Ooh, this is great!!

Smile, it makes (y)our day!

I am nostalgic when listening to music because I have this tendency of associating a particular song to a person or an incident. So whenever I hear a song it brings back the memories I associate them with.
Bingo!! I have this habit too!! Most of the times, a song makes me remember someone or the other!
Every single day, I come across at least one thing that brings back nostalgic memories….and most often, those memories help me live through the day !!
Yah, sometimes memories are the only hope for tomorrow! 🙂
