Fear Of Failure

Here’s another diary entry of the ordinary girl. Lets read it together..

Dear Diary,
OMG! You won’t believe what happened today! Ok, I might be overreacting but I just escaped a failure today. Yah, semester score was out and I had a narrow escape. Phew! So, I finally know what feels like to b a failure(well almost). But it did make me realize one thing, that no matter how strong we are (or pretend to be), each one of us is hell scared of failures.

Failure is said to be the stepping stone of success, yet when everyone wants to succeed nobody wants to fail! This fear of failure often makes people go astray. People want to fly high but the fear of falling down is always there. This fear made me go astray too but my conscience held me back. Everyone faces the choice between what is right and what is easy! And sometimes its just the fear of failure or lure of success that takes over.
This can be fear of the failure of anything: failure of love, failure of friendship, failure of fulfilling expectations, failure of relationships, failure of being unsuccessful, and fear of all these failures rules the world! Everyone lives in the fear of atleast one of these failure and I’m no special. I too have fears and I face them daily because escaping them is not the option but facing them is!

Of various failures I fear,
Failing expectations of people so dear.
If in life I might fail,
In despair my heart will wail.

Ordinary “Failure-Fearing” Girl.

  1. I’m scared of failures too and don’t take them to well which is strange because it’s not like I never fail…it takes me a lot of brooding and anger and even tears to get over failures…

    Another nice entry!

    Random Thoughts Naba

    1. I can totally relate with you on this! It takes a lot of time to take the failure out of my head and heart!
      Thanks for the visit! 🙂

  2. it indeed is difficult to get over failures! and it takes a lot of time for that! for me too failing expectations of dear ones is the biggest fear! looks like we two are on the same wavelength today 😉

  3. Failures should.be taken as part of life… The time we spend weeping.over it… The more time we lose to reach our goal. Wonderful and an honest post.

  4. I didn’t almost fail. I failed in dental college. In the internal exams, but still it was failure nevertheless. It brought us down from our high horse of getting merit seat in a dental college in Navi Mumbai 😀

  5. Awesome thought!! And it was only two days ago, that my appraisal at work was released. And yeah, inspite of doing such hardwork, Im rated average- CORPORATE LIFE- I tell you!!!- Failure of fulfilling expectations!!!! 🙁 🙁

    1. Although I haven’t seen the corporate life for myself but learning from experiences of others, fear of failure in job is one of the greatest! Thanks for the visit Shalini 🙂

  6. One should be able to face failures as they truly are pillars of success – as Swami Vivekananda also mentioned and I do agree. You need to learn from the mistakes and move on for a better tomorrow…

  7. Oh, yes, many times. Yet to recover from few, too. But will, soon !! Insightful, Nibhz 🙂

  8. Aramis!! Let’s punch failures and toast for our success. Remember, we are the three musketeers. Failures should even fear our naughtiness 😉

    Smile, it makes (y)our day!

  9. Failures are part of life. In fact it is because of failures, the success tastes sweet. We must not let our failures put us down for long. We must get up and move on soon enough!

  10. The secret of success are the failures faced by the person. We fail daily in some or the other thing and that teaches us and makes us a better person than yesterday…:)

  11. Failures force us to build the skills to succeed not only in present challenges, but in many more to come that we can’t yet foresee. Where success comes easily, I learn little and grow little.

  12. In a very broad way ‘Failure’ is always is best teacher for all of us but we,all have fear of
failure.Very late we understand the deep thought & concept of learning from failure……….
Early we learn this fact,we may not have ‘ fear’ ……………..

  13. Yes fearing the failure is natural to me. But if I fail then yes I do face it the way it comes. I loved your post. Let your heart not wail in pain if ever you fail your loved ones expectations, but make it strong enough to face the festivities and achieve what is lost with a new zeal.
