Day Dreaming

Here’s another diary entry of the ordinary girl. Lets read it together..

Dear Diary,

What happened today? Its not the first time I did that but it was indeed first time getting caught! Yah, professor caught me day dreaming today in the class; which led to an embarrassing situation I didn’t want to be in. He asked me what I was dreaming about so happily. Now what? I just concocted a story of enjoying summers at the beach! Thanks to my imagination which soared just at the right moment!
This started off a discussion on day dreams. It soon moved from day dreaming to dreams and I am happy that this discussion ate up whole of the boring lecture! Everyone seemed to be thanking me too! 😛
Dreams, a place where we are not ourselves but what we want to be or what we so desperately wish for; a classmate stated.
But a question still lingers in my mind and I cant stop thinking about it!
Which is more painful? Broken shattered dreams or Unfulfilled dreams? I guess both but there is still hope for unfulfilled ones. A dream once broken cant even be fulfilled and just remains a regret, a mere sad memory and a pain forever. Its hard to let go, its a memory that keeps flashing once in a while and makes one feel blue! And I’m signing off before my overthinking takes hold of me!

Dream dream dream!
Not of chocolates & Icecream!
My dream is to fly,
To paint my name in the sky!

Ordinary “dreaming” Girl.

Do you also dream? Do you regret the shattered dreams or enjoy the bliss of dreams coming true? Share your dreaming theories…

  1. Dreams… I’m thinking it’s best for me to not speak of dreams; I dreamt of growing old with him, but now he has passed on and I just continue on… alone.
That was a tricky way to end a boring lecture. It sounds like your teacher wasn’t too sad about leaving the subject, either. 😉

    1. I’m sure destiny will have something great in your future. just keep dreaming and don’t give up!
Thanks for the visit Mary 🙂

  2. Dreams Dreams!!!! They are lovely. Especially day dreaming, because in nights I get only nightmares!!! Even yesterday I had this ghostly nightmare 🙁

    1. Yes dreams are lovely! So what was this nightmare you had? The one I’m.having is not being able to read people’s blog 🙁

  3. Unfulfilled dreams can hold out promise for future fulfillment, you are right. As for shattered dreams, eventually I have recovered or, in one case, my very good friend made a simple comment/observation about someone I thought had broken my heart, and her comment was so “spot on” that I was immediately healed after years of angst.

  4. shattered dreams are a life lesson. But my solution to shattered dreams is, pick up the pieces, and analyse what went wrong. Think if there is some way in which you can put the pieces together again, or make an entirely new dream with the required changes. Who knows? You might end up with something better than you wished for in the beginning 🙂

  5. Reminds me of that John Lennon song – you say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one! Nice entry in the diary…starts out with a simple incidence and brings up some deeper questions.

  6. I guess unfulfilled dreams are better.. atleast there will be a hope.. I can connect with the girl totally. I keep dreaming most of the times in classes 😀

  7. Nibha great post. I think I enjoy the fulfilled dreams more than think of the shattered ones. Unfulfilled ones can be fulfilled at any time, who knows 🙂

  8. Once me and a friend was laughing teasing the professor who was teaching. He saw, he caught us and made tell what we were talking. Gosh! The embarrassment we felt. But the Prof was a good humored one… so we were spared except from his teasings!

  9. Life without dream is dry.Unfulfilled dream provides you and hope shattered ones should fill more energy to try some other dreams.Your dairy enters into interesting phase.

  10. Very interesting post Nibha! I’m not sure…I guess broken dreams can still signify that you lived and did something and then it didn’t work out. Unfulfilled dreams are those you are still working towards. So basically, I think neither is worse! 🙂
