Curse Of Punctuality

Here’s another diary entry of the ordinary girl. Lets read it together..

Dear Diary,

I’m just fed up! Its over the limits now! Its twice that we were thrown out of the class for being late! It would have been the matter of pride otherwise, only if it wasn’t the HOD kicking us out! Some students find pride in it but I do not! One of the rare things I hate is being late for anything! Or should I hate myself for being too punctual for everything! Its not that I hate wasting time, with all the vellapanti with friends I think we will soon be honoured with a degree in vellapanti!

But I dont know why my blood boils over not being punctual! My friends call me panic time machine! Uff! I think I took this quote seriously!

A person who cant value his time cant value anything!

Its so hardwired in my personality that I just cant let it go! I dont know who to blame for this disease! Disease? Is it? There has been times when it proven to be a boon, to me and people around. They dont worry about time because they know i am there to panic and get them on time(or atleast try!) Its said that punctuality is a rare gem in anyone’s personality these days! Isn’t it? I wonder if its a boon or a curse! A curse without cure I think and I can see my friends nodding in agreement! 🙁

Everyone has a watch
But no one sees the time
Punctuality is neither boon nor curse
Its just another crime!

Ordinary “over-punctual” Girl.

Are you also the victim of this curse or the rare gem in the crowd? Share your experiences…

  1. I was a bit confused here, she was thrown out of class for being late but then explained that she is never late so something big must’ve happened that made her late. I would’ve liked to know what. But see, it made me care for her! 🙂

    1. It was due to her friends that she got late.. Nice to see that you can feel the emotions of her 🙂 Thanks for the visit 🙂

  2. I think it is a boon… It’s better to be punctual than to be stamped with late latiff stamp.

  3. I don’t think most late’s are purposely rude; I think they have poor time management skills. t=They honestly think they can “fit it in” and are surprised when it doesn’t work. After one or two times, it becomes very stale, inconsiderate and annoying. Good topic for your post.

    1. Yes it might be… But consistently being late is something that can get on nerves! Thanks for visiting Sammy 🙂

  4. I’m on both sides of this one. I’m not always late, but late enough times to know to keep my mouth shut when someone else is late. Habitually late people do try my patience though.

  5. for me punctuality is a boon, and i do appreciate people who are punctual and value other’s time ! its better to be punctual than late, i think its a decision one makes for oneself !

  6. i used to be an over punctual girl and felt frustrated if people had poor time management, now I became the girl who makes others wait as I have nephew, niece, and a blog to manage. I now understand that ppl dont intentionally arrive late.

    Smile, it makes (y)our day!

  7. I am like you – always before time. I get panic attacks when I reach a place ‘just in time’. I don’t know if it’s a boon or a curse because I would like to have a free mind once in a while!

  8. I would confess that these days I am not a regularly punctual lady – every now & then I miss the clock too 😛
Nice post Nibha, I am enjoying reading the diary entries 🙂

  9. As a mum, I now understand why other people with kids are late! Mine always wants to go to the toilet just as we are ready to step out of the door or he has dropped a glass of water or food all over himself and needs a change… and thus began my saga of IST (Indian Stretchable Time). Or is just me? I wonder! I now factor in an extra 30 minutes to get to places and end up arriving early!

  10. I actually never understood why people use the phrase – “fashionably late”. What’s fashionable about being late? I think being on time is always in fashion. Nice post reminding us of that.

  11. Great post! Rightly put with a nice poem! I’m pretty punctual, but no point as I end up waiting for people to arrive 🙂

  12. I’m one of those people who likes to be punctual because I think it is the polite thing to do. I don’t mind other people being a little late – notice I say “a little”.

  13. Even am some one who loves to be punctual all the time and I hate it when people make me wait!! Loving your blog nibhz.. following it now 🙂

  14. Oh, I was a time freak and drove everyone mad. Then, my daughter came along and slowed me down. I still obsess about time but look at things more calmly now 😉

by poem in very words……………………….lot of praise from my heart………………………………

  16. Oh I hear you! I used to get so frustrated back in India when I always rocked up on time and had to wait for everyone else…and the thing is, I lived furthest away compared to my friends. It’s so frustrating — it also shows they don’t value you to keep you waiting.
