Today I’ll Begin…
Today I’ll begin
To smile a little more
And wash away sadness from core.
Today I’ll begin
To worry a little less
And walk over the mess.
Today I’ll begin
To never feel blue
When life gives no clue.
Today I’ll begin
To face all my fears
And make no space for tears.
Today I’ll begin
To keep moving on forward
Everytime life takes me backward.
Today I’ll begin
To not regret the unforgettable mistake
And learn from the lesson to take.
Today I’ll begin
To smile at everyone I greet
And spread happiness to all i meet.
Today I’ll begin
To listen to heart’s little voice
And make the tough choice.
Today I’ll begin
To fly high and totally free
Not sticking to the expectation tree.
Today I’ll begin
Letting go of the things that hurt
And heal myself with a scoop of dessert!
When I came across the Writer’s Post Blog Hop- If you could teach your younger self one thing, what would it be? hosted by Psych Babbler, I wondered what could be that one thing! But multiple answers came back to me everyday. So I came up with this, that its not one thing but multiple things I would like to teach my Younger Self! This is the Anthem I would want my Younger Self to say everyday she wakes up.
Also Linking this to the Write Tribe’s Wednesday Prompt-write a story, a poem, a piece of non-fiction starting with the following: Today I’ll begin…..

Love the poem and it’s a great anthem for when you are younger! Great take on both prompts… 🙂 By the way, great minds think alike in a way — you’ll see what I mean when my post for the Wednesday prompt comes up tomorrow…I’d scheduled it for then.
Thank you so much Psych 🙂
Waiting for your post now! *curiosity taking over*
Simple yet powerful. Written in a way that younger self (or me now) could draw on quickly as events of the day “discombobble” us. Well done!

Quite beautiful. Especially the first three lines 🙂 makes me realize that we even forget to smile sometimes.
Yah but we should keep reminding ourselves to smile everytime. 🙂
More, maybe 🙂 Not every time. But I get the drift.
